General FAQs

  • What service does Point of Care provide?

We provide Specialty Nursing and Infusion services for patients that require on going medical treaments, typically medical infusions (IV drips) or regular medical injections. We provide these service from our growing network of clinics across Ireland. We also provide Cervical Cancer Vaccines.

  • What does Specialty Nursing and Infusion services mean?

It means we have trained and qualified nurses that typically would have worked in some of the larger hospitals available at our network of clinics. These nurses have been trained to administer medications by infusion (IV drip) that in the past would have been primarily done in one of the larger hospitals. For patients that suffer from a range of diseases and conditions they may have an opportunity to receive this nursing treatment at one of our clinics. The patients just need to ask their doctor if they are a candidate for community treatments and the doctor can contact us if we are not already working with them. How does my existing Doctor work with your service?

Our service is dependent on a referral from your medical consultant and then we administer on-going treatments based on their directions. After each treatment we communicate the progress back to your doctor's office so they stay abreast of any developments. The treatments you receive at a Point of Care clinic does not replace the on-going medical consultations and visits to your doctor. In practice we are working for your doctor to help them administer your treatments much like a Nurse does at a hospital.

  • Who do I contact to find out if I can receive my treatments in your clinics?

The best contact is your own doctor, but since our service is relatively new they may have to give us a call or email and we can walk them the process of how we can make this service available to their patients.
